Short-term orthodontic treatment

At Evolve Orthodontics, our team treat a range of orthodontic problems presented by our patients. Some have severe crowding or spacing issues, others have extensive malocclusions (the official term for a bad bite). Most of these orthodontic problems take between 15 and 24 months to correct. After all, a beautiful smile needs to evolve; it's not something that can be rushed.

However, some of our patients have minor orthodontic issues which can be resolved faster than others. For these types of problems we will often recommend Invisalign i7 or Invisalign Lite.

Invisalign i7: This version of the innovative Invisalign treatment method uses the same clear plastic aligners that the full Invisalign treatment does, but it's designed for movement and correction of the front six teeth. This means patients can see results in as little as three months. So, if you have a crooked front tooth that's been bothering you, talk to us about Invisalign i7. Your new smile may only be three months away.

Invisalign Lite: Another version of the ever popular Invisalign method, Invisalign Lite is for those in between cases that will take a little bit longer than three months, but not as long as the full Invisalign treatment. Invisalign Lite can bring about results in six months. Talk to us today about which type of Invisalign could be right for you.

Fast treatment options

Invisalign i7 and Invisalign Lite are ideal for correcting minor orthodontic problems but they’re not to be confused with fast treatment options that some dental professionals offer. Orthodontics Australia has issued a warning regarding these so-called fast treatment options, which are also referred to as six-month braces, or rapid or quick braces.

These ‘fast treatment options’ can often cause more problems than they fix and can lead to further orthodontic issues such as tooth wear, gum recession and jaw joint imbalances to name a few. What is important to understand is that there is no such thing as fast orthodontic treatment. Whether you have a major or minor orthodontic problem, you need to receive the correct treatment and some treatment will take longer than others.

There is, however, a way you can encourage your teeth to move into alignment a little quicker than they would if you’re only fitted with an appliance. The hands-free AcceleDent device is a safe way to speed up the movement of your teeth within the gums.

Speed up your treatment with AcceleDent

AcceleDent offers a simple and convenient way to speed up your orthodontic treatment, slashing the time you need to wear braces or aligners by up to 50%. Simply hold the small hand-held AcceleDent device on your teeth for 20 minutes a day and it will deliver gentle microvibrations to your teeth and mouth, helping accelerate tooth movement. But this non-surgical approach to accelerated tooth movement isn't only about speeding up treatment times. AcceleDent can also minimise the risk of bacterial build up and gum related diseases.
